10 Amazing Sand Drawings

Sand artist Kseniya Simonova, winner of Ukraine's Got Talent, whose art moved audiences to tears as she won the title, has become an online sensation. She drew a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II.

Jim Denevan is an artist based out of Santa Cruz, California who travels the globe creating large-scale pieces of land art. Drawn on sand, earth, and ice, these incredible works of art are both created and destroyed by the very materials that enable their existence.

The tide waits for no man – which is why the creator of these works of art etched onto the beach has got his work cut out for him. Jamie Wardley's eye-catching artworks have adorned beaches all over the north of England and Scotland.

With a profound respect for the environment, Iranian artist Ahmad Nadalian has etched thousands of stones, small and large, with images of fish, crabs, faces, hands and feet which he then buries in the earth or tosses into bodies of water around the world.
Nadalian also carves cylinder seals and uses them in his worldwide quest to bring awareness to environmental issues. Cylinder seals are stone, glass or ceramic cylinders that were engraved with a story and used in ancient times to roll an impression of the images onto clay.

Another work by the artist, Jim Denevan, who creates some of the most impressive large scale pieces which can be seen most clearly from a plane or helicopter.

Landscape artist Andres Amador waits for the full moon to etch these amazing designs into the sand. Using only a rake and the help of a few friends, these massive works of art last only but a few moments once the sun comes up, due to being washed away by the rising tides.

Another work by sand sculptor, Jamie Wardley, transforms beaches into canvases for his art as he tries to send important messages through his giant drawings.
