The term of “weird” is, the least to say, vague, because – as we all know – what’s weird for me, could be normal to you. There are however patterns that we all accept as unusual, and we thought of offering you a list of
10 weird shaped beds. I personally believe that the bedroom is not only the most intimate room in a house/apartment, but it’s also a sort of image of what kind of person you are. Enjoy.


10. The Hanging Bed

The hanging bed was created by the Italian designer Andrea Lucatello. Although the bed is not actually hanging, it gives the impression that it floats in the air. It comes in two sizes – the Queen European King and Double. and various colors. The price for such a weird looking bed can go up to $5.000.

9. Cosmovoide Bed

This is luxurious bed by French designers Monk and Mindy. Some of the features included with this really expensive piece of art ($60.000) include a hammock-like suspending springs, seven rainbow-colored LEDs, a telephone, and a DVD/home theater with an integrated TV at its foot.

8. James Bond Bed By Nicolas Melan

If you really want something out of the ordinary, the From Bed With Love (aka James Bond Bed) may be the perfect choice. Designed by Nicolas Melan the bed is equipped with sports luminotherapic radiance integrated on the apex of the bed, replacing your common alarm clock. It comes with an integrated DVD system, a plasma screen, and a 5.1 surround system from THX.

7. The Computer Bed

For the geeky side of you, the computer bed is both practical and unusual. It has an intelligent design that offers space for storing your laptop, printer, and whatever you feel like adding. Its prized feature are the gas pistons that enable the bed to double up as a computer table, so you actually have two products in one. It was invented by European designer Lino’s son Francesco.

5. Private Cloud Bed

Number five in our top of ten weird shaped beds is called the Private Cloud. This piece of furniture was designed by Manuel Kloker, who patented his invention. The bed rocks back and forth just like a rocking chair. It sells for approximately $6.800, depending on the size of it. Mattress is not included.

4. The Lomme Bed

We continue with number four out of ten weird shaped beds, the Lomme Bed. The owner of this bed is promised to benefit from cutting-edge art of light and sound therapy. The bed removes any outside disturbances and “allows you to wake naturally, feeling refreshed and full of energy” according to the producer.

3. Molecular Bed

The molecular bed is made out of 120 sofa balls covered with elastic fabric. Inspired from molecular structures the bed was designed by Animi Causa. Let your imagination free and use it in various ways – the way it’s designed allows the bed to take different shapes.

2. Super Nintendo Bed

If you feel like feeding the gamer inside you, the Super Nintendo Bed could be your thing. It features a Hollandia adjustable 3D mattress, fully enclosed speakers, a 250 watt amplifier and two iPad docks. The price for it can go up to $20.000, but for geeks with a good bank balance is the perfect dream, literally.

1. Magnetic Floating Bed

This the coolest bed I’ve seen so far, ever. The magnetic floating bed has enough magnets to keep 900 kilograms floating into thin air. To be sure you’re not gonna move with it the bed is tethered to the walls by four cables. It was designed by Dutchman Janjaap Ruijssenaars and costs … hang on …. $1.53 million.
